Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and aspiring Junior Settlement Officer to join the Securities Operations Department and support the Settlements team in the broad range of their daily activities. This position will offer exposure to various markets and the opportunity to work with international upstream brokers and custodians. Reporting to the Team Lead of Settlement Unit, this person will be responsible for providing daily operational support and be involved in new product implementations and process automation initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing inquiries by front offices related to pending/potential transfers or DVP/RVP transactions;
  • Execution of CBO/NCBO FOP transfers of different types of securities of institutional and retail clients;
  • Settlement of equities, bonds, DRs and treasuries on various markets (proprietary and clients’ accounts);
  • Monitoring of pending, failed/unmatched transfers, and timely escalation in case of complicated cases;
  • Coordinating with Custodians, Prime Brokers, Client Managers, and Professional Clients regarding pending and potential transactions;
  • Cooperation with the Compliance Department regarding the new clients’ FOP transfers from external depositories;
  • Verifying post-settlement issues and discrepancies with clients and custodians;
  • Cooperating with Reconciliation Team in terms of investigation of breaks caused by securities movements;
  • Escalation of failed DVP transfers to Team Leader of Settlement Unit and Trading Desk for timely BUY-IN release;
  • Supporting DVP exchange trades settlement process, and complex intra-group securities transfers;
  • Creating and release of SWIFT messages in accordance with market rules and established procedures;
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with the clients and drive client service standards for the department.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years in a securities-related function (settlements, back office, securities reconciliations etc) demonstrated through work experience;
  • BA degree in business, finance or a related field;
  • General product knowledge of equities and fixed income securities;
  • Ability to use formulas and pivot tables in MS Excel;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Effective communication skills with proficiency in verbal and writing English and Russian;
  • Ability to execute in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while balancing multiple priorities;
  • Great team player and willingness to learn.
