Job Description

Main purpose of the role:

 The Software Developer is responsible for the development, design and testing of new or modified software products. You are expected to work with other Developers and Product Managers throughout the software development life cycle.

You need to be a team player with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills. Your goal will be to build efficient and high quality programs and systems that serve user needs, utilizing the Agile framework and popular coding languages.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  •  Responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs.
  • Identifies areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently develops these modifications.
  • Writes and implements and maintains efficient code.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Carries out testing and evaluating of new programs; – This could be an independent role as well but this is also part of the role.
  • Works closely with other developers, business and systems analysts.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation.

Key Candidate Qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Computer Science, or Software Programming and Development, or equivalent) or relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and testing.
  • Experience with web development, database design, and API development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and technologies (e.g., Git, IDEs, frameworks) is a plus.
  • Fluent in Greek and English.
