Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Qualify each event proposal, accepts those which match availabilities and are in line with conference marketing and strategy plan
- Assigns all events turned over to the conference & event team and oversees function space and group room blocks
- Assists with negotiations for space contracts and book event space, arrange food and beverage, order supplies and audio-visual equipment, ensure appropriate décor (florals, linens, color schemes, etc.) to meet the quality expectations of the hotel
- Leads discussions to review event complexity and proactively avoid service challenges and failure and overall responsible for ensuring coordination between the Events Management
- Department and Front Lines / Back-of-House departments.
- Closely monitors account revenue and business production.
- Adjusts strategies, procedures and coverage as needed to achieve the planned goals Identify key need periods
- Assists with promotional ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process
- Ensures awareness by the team of how to meet market changes at all times
- Prepares monthly catering revenue forecast and yearly budget.
- Develops marketing plan and ensure execution of marketing plan. Formalize strategies. Lead and motivate team to achieve goals
- Works with F&B Division in development of new concept/ theme menus/set-ups to cater to guests to enhance revenue and customer loyalty
- Actively promotes restaurant, events and conferencing facilities in line with annual strategic marketing plan
- Manages a team by leading by example and motivating a high-performance team
Qualifications
Experience
- 5 years of experience selling hotels and/or Senior Event Management Roles
- Excellent knowledge of conference & events segments within a large operation and experience in developing specific strategies and drive sales
- Proven Track Record in managing conferences / Expos / Wedding and other types of events
Education
Degree from a major, accredited institution in the fields of hospitality, Sales & Marketing, statistics, marketing, finance, business administration
Post graduate degree will be preferred
Skills / Competencies
- Mature presentation style and be comfortable interacting with senior management continuously
- Excellent command of English, Greek and other languages will be considered as an advantage
- Expert proficiency in MS Excel and strong skills in PowerPoint
- Must have superior technical skills in Opera, Dephi or other conference & event systems
- Strong project management skills is a must
