Job Description

Columbia Restaurants Cyprus is looking to hire a Sommelier.

SCOPE OF JOB

Sommelier responsibilities include recommending wine varieties to our guests or advise guests on wines based on their personal tastes.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating and updating the wine / bar list in cooperation with the restaurant manager.
  • Recommend food and wine pairings for special menus.
  • Ensure customers receive high standards of service as set by Columbia Restaurants.
  • Ensure all hygiene procedures within areas of responsibility are followed.
  • Manage extensive cellar and ensure all beverages are fully stocked at all times.
  • Have excellent relations with local and international wine producers and suppliers.
  • Planning wine dinners and special events.
  • Keep sales mix statistics and reports up to date.

  • Fluent in English or Greek
  • Good administration skills and computer knowledge
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Effective coaching and delegation skills
  • Good product knowledge
  • Good knowledge of health & safety, hygiene and licensing regulations

Level of Experience

Minimum level 2 WSET qualification
Previous experience in the same or similar position
